Bruce Springsteen Extends ‘Springsteen On Broadway’ Run

Earlier today tickets went on sale for a series of Bruce Springsteen concerts to be held at the Walter Kerr Theatre in New York City via Ticketmaster’s “Verified Fan” program. While the original Springsteen On Broadway was announced for October 3 through November 26, The Boss has extended the run for ten more weeks through February 3.

Ticketmaster confirmed the run has been extended via Twitter:

“I chose Broadway for this project because it has the beautiful old theaters which seemed like the right setting for what I have in mind,” Mr. Springsteen said in a statement when the original run was announced. “In fact, with one or two exceptions, the 960 seats of the Walter Kerr Theater is probably the smallest venue I’ve played in the last 40 years.”

The format of the shows, which will take place at a venue that holds less than 1,000 people, will be solo performances from Springsteen. Bruce will also read excerpts from his recently released autobiography, Born To Run. “My show is just me, the guitar, the piano and the words and music,” The Boss said. “Some of the show is spoken, some of it is sung. It loosely follows the arc of my life and my work.”

Ticketing information for the newly-added shows has been announced by Ticketmaster:

Those who previously registered for the Verified Fan program do not have to register again. Registration closes on September 3 at 10 p.m. ET ahead of the on-sale Thursday, September 7 at 10 a.m. ET.
