Bruce Springsteen revealed that a “big surprise” is coming in 2021. The Boss touched on the new developments in an interview with SiriusXM’s E Street Radio that aired on New Year’s Eve.

“I have some projects coming up this year that I won’t tell ’cause it’s going to be a secret and then a big surprise,” Springsteen said. “But I do have things to keep me busy this year that I’ll be doing that should give the fans something to bide their time with.”

As Ultimate Classic Rock noted, Springsteen did talk about some new projects in an interview with Rolling Stone in September including a follow up to his Tracks box set as well as an album that is “in the can” stemming from sessions for 2012’s Wrecking Ball and 2019’s Western Stars.

While Bruce noted that 2021 probably wouldn’t include a tour, he sounded optimistic that 2022 might see him out on the road.

“If things go as according to what Dr. Fauci is projecting, as soon as we can, we’ll be out there. And that might be 2022, you know, somewhere in the New Year of 2022,” The Boss said. “So, and I’m completely projecting because no one really knows, but that’s what I think, according to all the information that’s available at this moment.”
