Bruce Hornsby Solo Concerts | 2-CD Compilation Due In August

Virginia native and rock legend Bruce Hornsby will show off the many sides of his music with the August 25th release of Bruce Hornsby -Solo Concerts via Vanguard Records. The new 2-CD compilation contains 21 tracks recorded at solo concerts performed by Hornsby in the U.S. between 2012 and 2013.

Included on the new release are such beloved Hornsby classics as “Mandolin Rain” and “The Valley Road” as well as Bruce’s takes on the kind of old-timey music he performed at the start of his career. The keyboardist also offers his interpretation of modern classic music with the dissonance and expressive chromatics of 20th century 12-tone experimental composers like Austrians Arnold Schoenberg and Anton Webern, as well as American modernists like Elliot Carter, the Hungarian György Ligeti or the French mystic Olivier Messiaen.
