On April 29 and 30, Bruce Hornsby celebrated the release of Absolute Zero with a pair of concerts at National Sawdust in Brooklyn featuring chamber music ensemble yMusic. Hornsby posted pro-shot video of “Mandolin Rain” from the second show to his YouTube channel.

Bruce Hornsby originally released “Mandolin Rain” on his 1986 debut album with The Range, The Way It Is. “Mandolin Rain” made it to #4 on Billboard’s Hot 100 and topped the Adult Contemporary chart. However, the version he performed with yMusic on April 30, 2019 is based on a minor key version that originated out of a jam with Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder in Medford, Oregon in 2002.
