Acclaimed fiddlers Bronwyn Keith-Hynes and Jason Carter tied the knot at the Grand Ole Opry House on October 17, 2024. The pair celebrated by taking the stage at the famed venue that night and video of their “Trip Around The Sun” performance can be viewed below.
Bronwyn Keith-Hynes’ marriage was just one of several highlights from her big 2024. The member of Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway took home a Grammy in February for Best Bluegrass Album as City Of Gold earned the band their second straight award in the category. She also released her excellent debut solo album, I Built A World, which has been nominated for Best Bluegrass Album at the upcoming 67th Annual Grammys.

Jason Carter is best known as a member of the Del McCoury Band and The Travelin’ McCourys. He’s also an in-demand studio musician who has worked with a who’s who of musical greats including John Prine, Steve Earle, Vince Gill, Sam Bush and Ricky Skaggs. Carter has three Grammy wins of his own and is up for another next year with Del McCoury Band’s Songs Of Love And Life among the LPs up against I Built A World in the Best Bluegrass Album category.
The couple explained what getting married at the Opry meant to them in a note shared by Bluegrass Today, writing:
“We both are fortunate to get to play regularly on the Grand Ole Opry, and we were out there around the time that I proposed to Bronwyn. When we started talking about wedding venues, the Opry was the first place we thought of. The Grand Ole Opry is such a special place to us, and to any fan of bluegrass or country music.
We knew it was a long shot but figured it was worth asking. We were blown away when they said we could have our wedding there, because the Opry house is not a common wedding venue. And then to put the icing on the cake, they asked if we would be interested in performing on the Opry that night. So it was a total dream come true.
It really was an amazing day for us, being surrounded by so many friends and family. Some traveled as far as Ireland to come.
Since music is a huge part of our lives, it was very important to us who to get to play at the wedding. Michael Cleveland and Bryan Sutton performed during the ceremony, and Country Cousins (Timbo, Luke Munday, Nate Leath, and Brian Zonn) played the reception in Studio A at the Opry.
They were all incredible and just perfect! We are so fortunate to be a part of this amazing community! Our hearts are full.”
Bronwyn Keith-Hynes and Jason Carter performed together for the first time as a married couple by leading a stellar ensemble on a “Trip Around The Sun.” The couple were beacked by guitarist Bryan Sutton, mandolin player Michael Cleveland, bassist Shelby Means and banjo wiz Cory Walker on the standout track from I Built A World.
