Brokedown In Bakersfield | Live Album & Dates

By Scott Bernstein Nov 12, 2014 7:30 am PST

Nicki Bluhm (vocals), The Mother Hips’ Tim Bluhm (vocals, acoustic guitar), six-string maestro Scott Law (Darol Anger, Phil Lesh & Friends) and ALO’s Dan Lebowitz (guitar, pedal steel, vocals), Steve Adams (bass, vocals) and Dave Brogan (drums, vocals) came together as Brokedown In Bakersfield for what was supposed to be a one-off concert to explore the rich country music history of California, but the supergroup couldn’t deny their chemistry and have since played a number of gigs. On November 25, Brokedown In Bakersfield will release a live album on Little Sur Records, which is currently available for pre-order via and will support the LP with a series of shows.

Brokedown In Bakersfield Live! contains the supergroup’s versions of classics from Merle Haggard, George Jones, Gram and Wynn Stewart alongside copacetic originals. The music was captured on tour and produced by Dan Prothero (Mofro, Papa Mali), who’s previously worked with the Bluhm’s on Duets (2011) and Tim’s California Way (2005). The album will be available on vinyl, CD and digitally.

Brokedown In Bakersfield has five upcoming shows scheduled to support the LP and attendees will be able to pick up a copy of the live album at each show.
