Brittany Howard & Tia P. Release Angel City FC Anthem ‘Running With The Angels’

New National Women’s Soccer League team Angel City FC tapped Brittany Howard and Tia P. to co-write the club’s anthem. “Running With The Angels” is out today through ATO Records.

Based in Los Angeles, Angel City FC plays its home games at Banc of California Stadium. Angel City FC is the first majority women-funded, owned and operated pro-soccer team with Natalie Portman, Julie Uhrman and Kara Nortman among its founders.

Brittany Howard provided vocals and drum programming to the Mike Elizondo-produced “Running With The Angels.” Inglewood, California-based artist Tia P. added rap vocals with other contributors including Elizondo (drum programming, synthesizers, gang vocals), Danny Levin (trumpet, trombone, euphonium), David Moyer (baritone sax, flute), Corbin Jones (tube, baritone sax), Kevin Morris (gang vocals), Erica Block (gang vocals) and Alex Wilder (gang vocals).

“’Running with the Angels’ is dedicated to everyone who has made the glass ceiling their floor,” wrote the team in announcing the song. “We can’t wait to hear you all singing it with us.

The hype anthem was created as part of Johnnie Walker’s First Strides initiative. See the “Running With The Angels” video below:
