Bright Eyes announced the cancellation of all of their remaining 2024 tour dates. The band was forced to make the decision due to Conor Oberst’s recent issues with his voice.

“Over the past week, Conor has undergone multiple tests to determine the cause of his recent vocal problems,” read a note signed by Bright Eyes. “It’s come to light that he has developed a condition that is exacerbated by excessive singing, requiring both treatment and recuperation. We are confident that with a successful regimen, and continued medical attention, we will be able to return to the road next year.”

Earlier this month, Bright Eyes – Oberst, Mike Mogis and Nate Walcott – canceled a series of shows surrounding the release of their newly released album, Five Dice, All Threes. At that time, the band revealed Oberst’s vocal issues.

“The warm up shows we played earlier this week resulted in Conor losing his voice,” Bright Eyes wrote then. “And, on the advice of doctors, we’ve made the difficult but sensible decision to prioritize rest and recuperation for the remainder of the month.”

The latest cancelation impacts shows in October in Oakland and Los Angeles and a festival appearance in Las Vegas. Also canceled was a tour of Europe in November. The band is slated to tour North America again starting in mid-January 2025.
