Stephen Colbert tapped Brian Wilson as the musical guest for Thursday’s at-home edition of The Late Show. Wilson performed the Beach Boys classic “God Only Knows” for the episode and contributed a rendition of his solo gem “Love & Mercy” as a web exclusive for the show’s #PlayAtHome video series.

Brian Wilson went solo for both performances, which featured just Brian’s voice and piano. Wilson wrote “God Only Knows” with Tony Asher for inclusion on the Beach Boys’ iconic 1966 album Pet Sounds. “I love you all. Love and mercy to you all,” Wilson said after he finished “God Only Knows.”

“I just want you guys to know that we’re all in this together,” Brian exclaimed before his performance of “Love & Mercy.” Wilson penned “Love & Mercy” for his self-titled 1988 debut solo album. Watch Brian Wilson’s at-home renditions of “God Only Knows” and “Love & Mercy” for Colbert below:
