Last night at The Ritz in Raleigh, North Carolina Col. Bruce Hampton and The Aquarium Rescue Unit invited saxophonist Branford Marsalis and keyboardist Kofi Burbridge (who was on stage with his brother and ARU bassist Oteil Burbridge) to sit-in for their entire show. The two guest artists were previously unannounced additions to the concert.

Col. Bruce & ARU shared a brief clip of the sit-in on their Facebook page today. Watch Marsalis and Burbridge with the Col. below:

Col. Bruce Hampton & Aquarium Rescue Unit play again tonight, Thursday, August 13 at The National in Richmond, Virginia. Hard Working Americans open this evening’s concert, featuring two of Jimmy Herring’s (current) Widespread Panic band mates in Dave Schools and Duane Trucks, perhaps setting the stage for more collaborations.
