Brandi Carlile Shares ‘Take Me Home, Country Roads’ Cover

Brandi Carlile shared a cover of John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads.” Carlile’s version of the Denver classic features in a trailer for the upcoming Silence Of The Lambs CBS spinoff, Clarice.
John Denver co-wrote “Take Me Home, Country Roads” with Bill Danoff and Taffy Nivert. The singer-songwriter included the song on his 1971 album, Poems, Prayers And Promises.

Brandi Carlile is no stranger to “Country Roads,” the self-described John Denver fan recorded a version with the legendary Emmylou Harris in 2013 and has also performed the song live. Given the subject matter of Clarice, Carlile’s new version of the tune — which she recorded with longtime collaborators Phil Hanseroth, Tim Hanseroth and Josh Neumann — is a bit darker than her previous renditions.
