Andy Frasco & The U.N., Yonder Mountain String Band and North Mississippi Allstars are set to headline the inaugural Boulder Roots Fest. Billed as “the biggest music festival in Downtown Boulder in over a decade,” the event is set to take place October 17 – 19.

Also among the artists on the initial lineup are Ariel Posen, Banshee Tree, Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra, Danger Foley, David Lawrence, DNA Picasso, Fruta Brutal, The Galentines, Gen3, Hazel Miller and the Collective, No Signal, Old Man Saxon, Pete Wernick, Rootbeer Richie & The Reveille, Velvet Daydream and Wrenn Van. One hundred additional acts and new headliners will be announced in the coming weeks.

“We envision a citywide immersion of music in alternative venues up and down Pearl Street,” executive director of Roots Music Project Dave Kennedy stated. “Our partnership with Caruso Ventures will make the first year bigger, bolder, and better than we originally planned.”

Boulder Roots Festival will take place at traditional and non-traditional venues on or around Boulder’s famed Pearl Street including Boulder Theater, eTown, The Velvet Elk, 8Z Real Estate, Garage Sale Vintage, License No. 1, Odd Fellows Lodge, Paradise Found Records and Music, Savannah Bee Company and Stone Cottage Studios. Outdoor stages will be located at 16th and Pearl Street and Pearl Street Mall.
