Bono Injury Forces U2 Tonight Show Postponement

Each day this week Irish rockers U2 were supposed to perform on NBC’s Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. That is until lead singer Bono injured his arm on a bike ride in NYC’s Central Park. Now, the band has postponed the residency and there’s no word yet on who will take their spots.

U2 weren’t the only act set to play a late night residency this week as Metallica will perform on each night of The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson starting tonight through Friday. Here’s the official statement from U2.com:

It looks like we will have to do our Tonight Show residency another time -we’re one man down. Bono has injured his arm in a cycling spill in Central Park and requires some surgery to repair it. We’re sure he’ll make a full recovery soon, so we’ll be back! Much thanks to Jimmy Fallon and everyone at the show for their understanding.
