Bonnie Raitt performed for CBS Mornings weekly “Saturday Sessions” series. The legendary guitarist led her band through two songs from her new album, Just Like That... and a classic off 1989’s Nick Of Time.
Raitt also sat for an interview with Anthony Mason. Bonnie spoke about how hard it was not to play live over the first two years of the pandemic. The 72-year-old musician also discussed how Nick Of Time was recently inducted by The Library of Congress as one of 25 audio recordings for this year’s National Recording Registry, nightmares about leaving a studio album unfinished and wanting to tour for “another couple of decades.”
Just Like That… marked Raitt’s first new album since 2016’s Dig In Deep. Bonnie recorded the 10-track effort last summer in Sausalito, California with mixing engineer Ryan Freeland. The renowned musician played album cuts “Livin’ For The Ones” and “Made Up Mind” for “Saturday Sessions.” Bonnie also performed “Love Letter” from Nick Of Time.
