Bon Iver Covers Tom Waits’ ‘Take It With Me’ In Edinburgh

Bon Iver continued their European Tour last night with a performance at Edinburgh Playhouse in Edinburgh, Scotland. Wednesday’s concert saw the band covering Tom Waits for the first time during the tour.

Performing in support of the recently issued studio album 22, A Million, frontman Justin Vernon opened the show by taking his band through nine of the 10 songs (nearly in order) that make up the new record. Following takes on “Babys” off Blood Bank and “Perth” and “Minnesota, WI” off Bon Iver, Bon Iver, Vernon led a cover of “Take It With Me” by Tom Waits from the singer-songwriter’s 1999 album Mule Variations.

Vernon then welcomed opening act Mikaela Davis to play harp and add vocals on a rendition of “Flume.” Bon Iver returns to the Edinburgh Playhouse for a second concert tonight. Watch a portion of “Flume” from Wednesday’s show captured by nadia0white below:
