Bombino Performs Live At WFUV

Tuareg musician Bombino (guitarist Omara Moctar) released his latest album Deran earlier this year. In May, Fordham University welcomed Bombino to its WFUV radio station in New York City to perform songs from the record.

Moctar, bassist Youba Dia, guitarist Illias Mohammed and drummer Corey Wilhelm performed three songs off Deran, which are sung in the Tuareg laguage Tamashek. The group offered takes on the single “Tehigren,” as well as “Oulhin” and “Imajghane.”
