A second Bob Weir & Wolf Bros date in Chicago has also been added. The text below has been changed to reflect the addition of the new performance.
As reported, Grateful Dead guitarist Bob Weir will bring a new project dubbed on this road this fall. The trio’s inaugural run has been expanded with the addition of three new shows.
Bob Weir, bassist Don Was and drummer Jay Lane added second shows in Chicago, Boston and New York City. The group confirmed additional performances at the Chicago Theatre in Chicago on November 1, Boston’s Boch Center Wang Theatre on November 15. Weir & Wolf Bros also announced a second night at The Beacon Theatre in New York City on November 19.
“Wolf Bros is something that really took its roots back in the spring of 2015 when Don Was came up to TRI and helped us piece together Dead & Company,” Bob Weir said of the new project in a statement when the tour was announced. “For a while now I’ve been itchin’ to explore our songs in a trio setting. An upright bass, my acoustic or electric guitar and a drummer. We did some rehearsals this past spring and it was big fun—and that’s the whole idea. We were kickin’ around Dead songs as well as tunes from my back pages. I’m pretty sure we’re gonna have a big adventure with this…”
The now 22-date tour begins at Grand Sierra Resort & Casino in Reno on October 16. Bob Weir & Wolf Bros bring the tour to both coasts before they are currently scheduled to end the run at the Beacon Theatre on November 19.
Tickets for all three new shows go on sale this Friday, August 17 at 10 a.m. local via Ticketmaster. Register here before 10 p.m. ET today for a chance to take part in a Verified Fan Presale.
