An audience recording of Bob Weir’s guest-filled show in Los Angeles has surfaced and can be streamed/downloaded below.
Grateful Dead guitarist Bob Weir continued his Campfire Tour at the Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles on Monday night. Bobby’s Dead & Company band mate John Mayer sat-in for a large portion of the second set and encore as did The National front man Matt Berninger.
Weir started the first set with a trio of solo performances: “KC Moan,” “Loose Lucy” and “Blue Mountain.” Bob’s band of Steve Kimock, Jon Shaw, Bryan Devendorf and Scott Devendorf then emerged for the rest of the opening stanza, which focused on material from the recently released Blue Mountain including “Lay My Lily Down,” “Ghost Towns” and “Gonesville.”
Bobby and his band began the second set with “Me & My Uncle” before a pairing of “Jack-A-Roe” and “West L.A. Fadeaway.” Mayer then came out to join in and help sing “Jack Straw.” John stuck around while the Devendorfs’ National mate Berninger emerged to add vocals to the set-closing duo of “Morning Dew” and “I Know You Rider.” Weir kicked off the encore by himself for a solo “Ki-Yi Bossie” before his band, Mayer and Berninger returned to end the show with “Peggy-O” and “Ripple.”
