By Scott Bernstein May 16, 2016 7:24 am PDT

Grateful Dead and Dead & Company guitarist Bob Weir appeared at the second annual Einstein Gala at The Carlu in Toronto on Sunday night. Weir spoke for about 30 minutes on musical innovation, science and technology and additional topics at the event which also featured other panelists and speakers including CNN’s Anderson Cooper.

Bobby’s acoustic set spanned about an hour and featured nine songs including a “Ripple” encore. The guitarist opened with “Loose Lucy” and played “Peggy-O” and “KC Moan” before performing covers of Little Feat’s “Easy To Slip” and the Beatles’ “Dear Prudence.” Weir then welcomed Toronto’s own Dan Kanter of Justin Bieber’s band to help him finish the set with “Friend Of The Devil,” “Birdsong” and “Jack Straw.” Kanter also joined in on the “Ripple” encore.
