Bob Weir Performs At Pedal Launch Celebration In San Rafael
While Dead & Company are currently on a short break between last weekend’s shows in Wisconsin and their return to The Gorge in George, Washington on Friday, guitarist Bob Weir played a short acoustic set on Wednesday afternoon in San Rafael, California. Weir performed and spoke outside of Bananas At Large music store to celebrate the launch of the Bob Weir “Real Deal” Acoustic Preamp pedal by Pigtronix.
Bobby opened with a rendition of “Loose Lucy,” which has been a staple of his solo acoustic performances. He then spent time talking about the pedal and how it helps provide the full sound of his acoustic instrument at high volumes without feeding back. Weir went on to treat the crowd gathered to a beautiful rendition of “Only A River” from his 2016 solo album Blue Mountain before responding to questions about the preamp.
Dead & Company’s upcoming leg of their current tour focuses on the West Coast with two nights at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California among the remaining shows. nugs.tv is providing webcasts of each concert. The price of the “Unlimited Devotion Webcast Pass” package has dropped from $500 to $300 and still includes Video On Demand access to all of the completed Dead & Company shows as well as live webcasts featuring the remainder of the tour. A contest is underway here with the grand prize of one “Unlimited Devotion Webcast Pass” and three Gorge/Eugene 2-show HD Webcast passes. The contest ends on Friday afternoon.
