[UPDATED] Bob Weir To Sing National Anthem For Fox NASCAR Virtual Race

Bob Weir will sing the National Anthem for Fox’s virtual NASCAR race on Sunday. The race will air on Fox, FS1 and the FOX Sports App at 1 p.m. ET. Head here for more info.

Bobby certainly doesn’t feel like a stranger when it comes to “The Star-Spangled Banner.” The Grateful Dead guitarist has sung the National Anthem at numerous events including last year at a Golden State Warriors game with Jackie Greene as well as a Fourth Of July version with Greene during the latter’s set at Red Rocks.

Bobby and other members of the Grateful Dad have sung “The Star-Spangled Banner” at a handful of San Francisco Giants baseball games as well. Weir, Jerry Garcia and GD keyboardist Vince Welnick sing the National Anthem at the legendary Candlestick Park in 1993 and more recently Bobby, Phil Lesh and Giants third base coach Tim Flannery sang the nation’s song in 2014.
