Bob Dylan’s comprehensive run through Spain on his Rough And Rowdy Ways Tour continued on Thursday at the Plaza de Toros in the Mediterranean port city of Alicante. The legendary singer-songwriter treated the Alicante audience to a debut cover of the Van Morrison classic “Into The Mystic.”
Dylan’s Rough and Rowdy Ways Tour comes in support of his 2020 album of the same name. Bob’s setlist for the extensive trek has seen him opening with the Leon Russell-produced 1971 single, “Watching The River Flow,” followed by the Blonde on Blonde (1966) cut, “Most Likely You Go Your Way and I’ll Go Mine.”

Dylan then gets into Rough and Rowdy Ways material beginning with the album singles “I Contain Multitudes” and “False Prophet.” From there he intersperses songs from his latest studio album with more classic material like “When I Paint My Masterpiece,” “I’ll Be Your Baby Tonight” and “Gotta Serve Somebody.”
Dylan has been incorporating setlist variations toward the end of his set following Rough and Rowdy Ways’ “I’ve Made Up My Mind to Give Myself to You.” Earlier this year Dylan played serval songs by, or closely related to, the Grateful Dead.
In Alicante, Dylan slotted in the beloved Van Morrison tune, “Into The Mystic.” The song appears on Van’s landmark 1970 album, Moondance, and also features on the 1974 live LP, It’s Too Late To Stop Now.
Dylan’s version saw Tony Garnier sticking to the song’s iconic bassline. But Bob showcased a different cadence when delivering the lyrics, as he is wont to do. Listen to Bob Dylan debut Van Morrison’s “Into The Mystic” via nightly moth below:
