O.A.R. recruited Blind Melon, a band that has been on a hiatus from touring since 2019, as support for a pair of June 2025 concerts at scenic Colorado venues. The Colorado Road Trip featuring O.A.R. and Blind Melon is coming to Vail’s Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater on June 20 and Red Rocks Amphitheatre outside Denver on June 21.

Original Blind Melon frontman Shannon Hoon tragically died of a drug overdose in 1995. Hoon’s bandmates — lead guitarist Rogers Stevens, rhythm guitarist Christopher Thorn, drummer Glen Graham and bassist Brad Smith — spent the next four years looking for a new vocalist and officially split in 1999 when the search proved unsuccessful. Blind Melon reformed in 2006 with new vocalist Travis Warren.

The second chapter of the Blind Melon story seemingly ended in 2008 when Warren left the band. Travis Warren changed his mind and Blind Melon was back in 2010. Nathan Towne took over bass duties in 2017 following the departure of Brad Smith. A lineup of Warren, Towne, Stevens, Thorn and Graham last played a series of concerts in 2019 and have been off the road ever since.

Several questions remain to be answered, including whether the 2019 lineup will be intact next June and if additional shows will be added. As for now, the Colorado Road Trip with O.A.R. is the only run on the books for Blind Melon.
