Black Pumas performed a set at Lollapalooza in Chicago on Thursday. The Austin-based psychedelic soul band delivered a number of songs from their Grammy-nominated self-titled debut album and more.

Black Pumas, who were introduced by Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, kicked things off with the non-Black Pumas track “Next To You” followed by “I’m Ready,” with the latter appearing on the band’s deluxe edition of Black Pumas which was nominated for the coveted Album Of The Year at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards. Next up, frontman Eric Burton, sporting a Cubs jersey, would go sans guitar for a characteristically powerful vocal performance of “Know You Better.”

The set also included Black Pumas singles “Black Moon Rising” and “Fire” followed by a cover of Leon Bridges’ “Smooth Sailing.” To close out the slot, Black Pumas guitarist and producer Adrian Quesada strummed out the shimmering opening chords to the band’s hit “Colors” before Burton took over with the stellar tune’s opening strains. Eric would get the crowd involved at the end of the song and also shook hands with folks in the front row as he sang a cappella.
