Icelandic icon Björk enlisted Spanish artist Rosalía for a new benefit single, “Oral.” The track aims “to shed light on the alarming cruelty, and severe environmental and ecological consequences of open-pen ocean salmon farming in Björk’s native country, Iceland,” as per a press release.

The first collaboration between Björk and Rosalia, “Oral” was produced by the artists and Sega Bodega. Björk wrote “Oral” between 1997’s Homogenic and 2001’s Vespertine.

While the song didn’t fit in those projects, Björk revisited the song while touring in Australia in March 2023 — around the same time a report about “the devastating impact of poorly regulated, Norwegian-owned commercial salmon farming operations on Iceland’s native ecosystems,” the press release stated.

Proceeds from the single will benefit Aegis, a non-profit organization to combat open pen fish farming in Iceland. A music video for “Oral” created by visual artist Carlota Guerrero and executive producer Zico Judge of Blur & ProdCo is available to view. Watch below:
