Bitchin Bajas announced a new album, Inland See, arriving on September 26 via Drag City. The psychedelic drone trio of Cooper Crain, Rob Frye and Daniel Quinlivan shared the single “Skylarking” along with 2025 Fall Tour dates.

Inland See follows Bitchin Bajas’ 2022 record, Bajascillators. Armed with material they wrote on the road, the band led by Cave guitarist/keyboardist Cooper Crain took to Chicago’s Electrical Audio, the recording facility founded by the late Steve Albini. The trio, along with engineer Cooper, cut the record in Studio B, a room that lent plenty of space to the sound with no post reverb necessary.

The first taste of Inland See is the LP’s opening track, “Skylarking,” “a remarkable construction, built to and fro in the ether, but with a deceptive grasp of four-on-the-floor rhythm,” as per press materials. “A space dance that achieves completion in almost aggressive terms — aggressive like an oxygen bath! — showcasing jewels from their world music and jazz archives, then returning to their undulous source drone, riding smoothly back into silence.”
