Billy Strings recently held a concert at The Showbox in Seattle. The guitar picker busted out his cover of reggae legend Jimmy Cliff’s “Sitting Here In Limbo” towards the end of his second set on Saturday night.
Strings and company kicked things off with a seamless block of “Likes Of Me,” “Pyramid Country.” and “Airmail Special.” Strings continued with “Away From The Mire,” “Long Forgotten Dream,” “All Time Low,” “A Robin Built A Nest On Daddy’s Grave,” “Enough To Leave” and “Hollow Heart.” The guitarist then brought the first frame to a close with “Blue Mule.”
Strings got the second set underway with “Everything’s The Same” followed by “I’m Still Here” which led into “Last Train To Clarksville.” “Running,” “There Is A Time” and “Must Be Seven” followed ahead of Cliff’s “Sitting Here In Limbo,” which Strings last played on February 24, 2018 in Colorado. Up next was the pairing of “Taking Water” and “Salty Dog Blues.” String closed out the second set with “Ernest T. Grass” into “Little Maggie.”
Strings and his band reemerged for a cover of “In Hiding,” a song by Seattle’s own Pearl Jam, as the encore. Check out video of Billy Strings performing “Sitting Here In Limbo” as well as “In Hiding” captured by Pete Smith below:
