Strings’ group — consisting of bassist Royal Masat, mandolinist Jarrod Walker and banjoist Billy Failing — was augmented by fiddler Alex Hargreaves on Late Night. Hargreaves has joined the quartet for a number of concerts lately including a performance in Dayton, Ohio on June 15.

Renewal is Billy’s fifth studio album and arrived on September 24, 2021. “The Fire On My Tongue” was penned by Strings, Jon Weisberger and Aaron Allen and has been a staple of the guitarist’s live shows since its debut at The Capitol Theatre in February 2021.
