Billy Strings Performs ‘Dust In A Baggie’ At The Grand Ole Opry: Pro-Shot Video

At the start of March, Billy Strings made his debut at the Grand Ole Opry. During the performance, which also saw quick sets from Alison Krauss, Old Crow Medicine Show, Brandon Lay and others, the young guitar prodigy and his band worked through two songs and earned a standing ovation. The Opry shared pro-shot video of a song from Billy’s set.
Strings built his set around prison songs, telling the audience midway through the show that he’d had a dream about his brother and going to jail the night prior. Appropriately, the exceptional flat-picker opened his set with “Dust In A Baggie,” a tune off his 2016 self-titled EP that has become one of the hallmarks of his live performances. For his second and final song, Strings offered up the mournful “While I’m Waiting Here,” off his 2017 LP Turmoil & Tinfoil.
