Billy Strings Announces Return To The Bluegrass Festival That Changed His Life

When Billy Strings was growing up, he attended the Charlotte Bluegrass Festival in Charlotte, Michigan. His experience at his first bluegrass festival left a lasting impact and he’ll repay the favor by headlining the first night of the year’s event.

“This is the first bluegrass festival I ever attended and it changed my whole life. I can’t wait to go back!!,” Strings wrote on social media about the Charlotte Bluegrass Festival. The 53rd annual festival will be held at the Eaton County Fairgrounds June 19 – 21.

Strings tops the bill on the 19th following performances from Junior Sisk, Edgar Loudermilk Band, Red Camel Collective and Harbourtown. Volume Five, Edgar Loudermilk Band, The Tennessee Bluegrass Band, Kentucky Just Us and Cedar Creek will play the festival on the 20th with The Seldom Scene, Appalachian Road Show, The David Mayfield Parade and Crabgrass closing out the event on the 21st.

Fresh off his time on Willie Nelson’s Outlaw Music Festival tour, Billy Strings also rounded out his summer tour by announcing a pair of shows in the Pacific Northwest. Strings will play the Angel Of The Winds Arena in Everett (Washington) on August 22 and the Matthew Knight Arena in Eugene (Oregon) on August 23. Additionally, the guitarist confirmed an intimate performance on September 17 at The Signal in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

General on-sales for the three new shows begin on Friday, May 30 at 10 a.m. local time.
