Billy Strings shared pro-shot video of his June 15, 2019 set from the Blue Ox Music Festival in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Strings and company would deliver a bust out from bluegrass legends Flatt & Scruggs and also welcome banjoist Cory Walker.

Billy kicks things off with “Hollow Heart” from his 2019 album, Home, followed by a driving version of “Doin’ Things Right” from his 2017 solo debut, Turmoil & Tinfoil. Strings then got into some Bill Monroe with “Southern Flavor” before kicking off a three-song segued section with Jerry Garcia and David Grisman’s “Dreadful Wind & Rain” followed by the Strings classics “Dust In A Baggie” and “Thirst Mutilator,” the latter of which appears on Billy’s 2016 self-titled debut EP.

The big bust out came next with Strings covering Flatt & Scruggs’ “99 Years Is Almost For Life,” which the band had not played since 2015 as per Phantasy Tour. Billy then welcomed banjo phenom Cory Walker for a smoking section of The String Cheese Incident’s “Black Clouds,” which encompassed The Dillards’ “Ernest T. Grass,” and saw Billy Strings banjoist Billy Failing trading licks with Walker. Billy and the band continued with Gordon Lightfoot’s “Ten Degrees & Getting Colder” before closing out with “Turmoil & Tinfoil.”
