The Midnight Special YouTube channel continued their rollout of classic appearances today with a video of Billy Preston performing “All Spaced Out.” Preston took the stage on the famed live music program on August 31, 1973.
While it appears Billy Preston never released “All Spaced Out,” it is akin to his Grammy-winning, 1971 hit “Outa-Space” in that it is laced with wah-soaked, cosmic clavinet from the legendary keyboardist. Preston also delivered an intergalactic synth run on the tune. The performance is a keyboardist’s dream as Billy is flanked by a pianist and Hammond organ player and backed by a horn section.
