Bill Kreutzmann’s Billy & The Kids Announce Pier-To-Pier Concerts In Baltimore And New York City

Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann will gather Billy & The Kids and “a friend or two” this August for a pair of “Dead On The Water” shows in Baltimore and New York City. The ensemble will play Baltimore’s Pier Six Pavilion on August 16 before heading to The Rooftop at Pier 17 in New York City on August 18.

Kreutzmann will be joined by a core band featuring founding “Kids” bassist Reed Mathis, keyboardist Aron Magner and guitarist Tom Hamilton as well as more recent additions saxophonist James Casey and percussionist Jeff Franca at both shows. Billy, who pulled out of Dead & Company's “The Final Tour” mere weeks before it started, previously brought Billy & The Kids to New Orleans on Thursday, April 27.

Tickets for both Billy & The Kids Pier-To-Pier concerts go on sale this Friday, June 23 at 10 a.m. ET. New York City tickets can be purchased through a Venue Presale tomorrow (Thursday, June 22) at 10 a.m. ET with ROOFTOP as the password.

“I had such a great time playing in New Orleans during Jazz Fest, that I just knew I had to get @billykandthekids back together this summer for more fun,” wrote Kreutzmann in an Instagram post announcing the shows. “I wanted to be by the water but I wanted to play on land – so I thought, ‘Let’s just go from pier to pier, drop our anchor and throw down’. I know we can take these two nights far out there while never leaving port.”
