Bill Graham Biopic Film In The Works

20th Century Fox has confirmed production of a biopic film about the life of legendary concert promoter Bill Graham, according to a report by Deadline. Directed by Shawn Levy, the film will be based in part on the autobiography Bill Graham: My Life Inside Rock And Out written by Graham with Robert Greenfield.
Born in 1931 in Germany, Graham and his family escaped the Holocaust, moving to France before settling in New York city by the time he was 10. Known for promoting concerts at San Francisco’s The Fillmore and Winterland Arena and the short lived The Fillmore East in New York City in the late-1960s and early-1970s, Graham helped popularize musicians such as the Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin, Jefferson Airplane, The Steve Miller Band, Quicksilver Messenger Service, The Byrds, Santana, Frank Zappa and many many others. He died in 1991 at age 61 in a helicopter crash near of Vallejo, California.
Levy will produce the biopic on the Rock And Roll Hall Fame promoter through the director’s 21 Laps Entertainment company. Greenfield, David Graham and Alex Graham are on board as executive producers. Information regarding cast and release date has not been disclosed.
