Bicycle Day is an annual event held in honor of Dr. Albert Hoffman’s April 19, 1943 bicycle journey in which the scientist took the first trip on a new substance he had developed, LSD. Organizers of an annual Bicycle Day event will present a counter-cultural celebration that brings together visual arts, consciousness studies, live music, and the most psychedelic elements of the Bay Area community together under one roof. This year’s Bicycle Day celebration will be held at a new location – an art complex called The Midway, located right by the water – on April 19.

Bicycle Day 2017 is centered around the world renowned visionary painters Alex Grey and Allyson Grey, along with digital visual mastermind Android Jones. Musically, the big news is the Bay Area debut of supergroup Bureau Of Sabotage featuring bassist Oteil Burbridge (Dead & Company/Allman Brothers Band), guitarist John Kadlecik (Furthur), keyboardist Aron Magner (Disco Biscuits) and drummer Jeff Franca (Thievery Corporation).

Organizers have selected musical acts from around the world to round out the lineup including U.K. psydub legend Ott, live jamtronica band Papadosio, eclectic U.K. bass musician Phaeleh, world fusion and live violin from Govinda, and more including Eliot Lipp of Pretty Lights Music.

Limited early bird tickets are available now for $35, before going up to $45 here.
