On Saturday night, Gov’t Mule brought their European Tour to the Picturedrome in Holmfirth, United Kingdom. Frequent collaborator Bernie Marsden once again joined Warren Haynes on guitar for an extended sit-in.
Mule opened their performance with “Mr. Man,” beginning a main set that included such setlist staples as “Mr. High & Mighty,” “Broke Down On The Brazos,” “Thelonius Beck,” “Unring The Bell,” “Endless Parade,” “Devil Likes It Slow” and “Drivin’ Rain.” Haynes and crew also worked in covers of Blind Faith’s “Presence Of The Lord” and the set closing regular pairing of “I Am A Ram” performed with The Beatles’ “Love Me Do” within.
Marsden emerged to assist on the multi-song encore, as the Whitesnake guitarist helped launch the finale with the blues standard “Need Your Love So Bad.” Next came a take on Bobby “Blue” Bland’s “Ain’t No Love In The Heart Of The City” which segued into a cover of B.B. King’s “The Thrill Is Gone” before returning to conclude “Ain’t No Love.” Gov’t Marsden continued as the concert drew to a close with a rendition of Free’s “Wishing Well.”
