Ben Folds Lets Paper Airplane Request Tour Fly Again In 2024

Acclaimed pianist and singer-songwriter Ben Folds is bringing his Paper Airplane Request Tour back in 2024. The audience engaging solo trek begins in May and concludes in August.

“The last time I did this on tour the response was overwhelming, with literally hundreds of paper airplanes with song requests being launched on cue from fans at the start of the second half of each of my concerts,” Folds said of the tradition. “It’s the purest, most low-tech form of engagement that creates a special bond with my audiences.”

Ben Folds — who released his album What Matters Most last summer — launches the Paper Airplane Request Tour on May 30 at Charleston Music Hall in Charleston, South Carolina ahead of a concert in Augusta, Georgia the following evening.

Early June will see Folds throughout the Southeast with stops in Peachtree City (Georgia), The Caverns in Pelham (Tennessee), Charlotte (North Carolina), Savannah (Georgia), Virginia Beach (Virginia) and Rocky Mount (Virginia).

Folds comes to Pittsburgh on June 9 followed by a concert in Richmond, Virginia. A Northeast stint includes engagements in Lowell (Massachusetts), Great Barrington (Massachusetts) and Hammondsport (New York).

Next, the pianist kicks off a Midwest swing in Kent, Ohio on June 25. Additional Midwest shows include Toledo (Ohio) and Poteskey (Michigan). The first leg of the Paper Airplane Request Tour will wrap in Kalamazoo, Michigan on June 29.

The trek resumes on July 30 in Boise, Idaho. Folds then heads down to Colorado for concerts in Steamboat Springs and Boulder. The Paper Airplane Request Tour wraps on August 6 at the Vilar Performing Arts Center in Beaver Creek, Colorado.

Following presales, tickets for the Paper Airplane Request Tour go on sale to the general public Friday, March 8 at 10 a.m. local time.
