In August friends and musical collaborators Béla Fleck and Chick Corea will hit the road together for a co-headlining tour. While Béla and Chick have toured together in the past, this time around they will bring their full bands as reported by Jambands.com.
A recent e-mail from Fleck’s camp announced the tour, which is set for August 5 – 21 at locations to be revealed in the coming weeks. Béla Fleck reunited the Flecktones for a tour in June following a lengthy hiatus. The lineup for the June tour and for the upcoming jaunt with Corea is expected to feature bassist Victor Wooten, percussionist Roy “Futureman” Wooten and multi-instrumentalist Howard Levy. Chick Corea’s Elektric Band will see him joined by John Patitucci, Frank Gambale, Eric Marienthal and Dave Weckl.
Look for each show to feature performances from both bands as well as a superjam encore.
