Late last year, legendary performer Béla Fleck revealed he would hit road to lead Béla Fleck and the Flecktones on a co-headlining tour with Chick Corea Elektric Band this August. Six Flecktones dates have been announced thus far including three with Corea’s band.

As currently laid out, Béla Fleck & The Flecktones will begin the tour with an appearance at the Newport Jazz Festival in Newport, Rhode Island on Friday, August 4. Then, the Flecktones join up with Chick Corea Elektric Band at Albany’s Palace on August 5 and Wolf Trap in Vienna, Virginia on August 6. Another confirmed co-headlining date for the two acts will take place at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania on August 9. Béla Fleck & The Flecktones will perform by themselves at Geneva, New York’s Smith Opera House on August 10 before another co-bill at Chautauqua Institute Amphitheatre in Chautauqua, New York on August 11. Stay tuned for additional tour announcements.

Béla Fleck reunited the Flecktones for a June 2016 tour following a lengthy hiatus. The lineup for the June ’16 tour and for the upcoming jaunt with Corea is expected to feature bassist Victor Wooten, percussionist Roy “Futureman” Wooten and multi-instrumentalist Howard Levy. Chick Corea’s Elektric Band will see him joined by John Patitucci, Frank Gambale, Eric Marienthal and Dave Weckl. Look for each show to feature performances from both bands as well as a superjam encore.
