Bela Fleck & The Flecktones Announce August 2017 Tour

This August, master banjo player Béla Fleck will take Béla Fleck and the Flecktones back on the road. Béla Fleck & The Flecktones will play 16 shows over the course of the three-week tour including a number of co-headlining concerts with Chick Corea Elektric Band.

Fleck & The Flecktones will begin the tour at Carnegie Of Homestead Music Hall in Pittsburgh on August 2. From there, Béla will finally bring the Flecktones back to the city where he was born for a free show at Brooklyn’s Prospect Park Bandshell on August 3 ahead of an appearance at the Newport Jazz Festival in Newport, Rhode Island on August 4. Then, the group joins up with Chick Corea Elektric Band for performances Albany’s Palace, Wolf Trap in Vienna, Virginia as well as visits to Red Bank, New Jersey and Kennett Square, Pennsylvania.

Béla Fleck & The Flecktones will perform by themselves at Geneva, New York’s Smith Opera House on August 10 before co-bills in Chautauqua, New York; Sterling Heights, Michigan; Cincinnati; Denver and Salt Lake City. The tour ends with Béla Fleck & The Flecktones/Chick Corea Elektric Band shows in the California cities of Rohnert Park, Saratoga and Los Angels.

The Flecktones reunited for a June 2016 tour following a lengthy hiatus. Béla will be joined by bassist Victor Wooten, percussionist Roy “Futureman” Wooten and multi-instrumentalist Howard Levy on the upcoming tour. Chick Corea’s Elektric Band will see him joined by John Patitucci, Frank Gambale, Eric Marienthal and Dave Weckl. Co-bills are expected to feature performances from both bands as well as a superjam encore.
