Béla Fleck will present an all-star concert at New York City’s Carnegie Hall on January 9, 2022. The famed banjoist will be joined by special guests including Billy Strings, Chris Thile, Molly Tuttle, Sam Bush, Sierra Hull, Michael Cleveland, Jerry Douglas, Stuart Duncan, Edgar Meyer and Bryan Sutton for a show celebrating his recently released My Bluegrass Heart album.
Tickets for the concert, which takes place in the city where Fleck was born and raised, are on sale now here. Each of the guests are among those who contributed to My Bluegrass Heart, Béla’s first bluegrass album in over 20 years. My Bluegrass Heart came out on September 10.
“Calling something the ‘concert of a lifetime’ sure sounds like hype, and in many cases it would be,” Fleck said in a press release. “But not this time! At least for my world and my music, this is an unprecedented opportunity to bring some of the brightest instrumental lights in bluegrass—or any other music for that matter—to the incredible Carnegie Hall stage.”
Today, Fleck also released video featuring a live performance of My Bluegrass Heart closing track “Psalm 136.” Béla dueted with Chris Thile on the song in Telluride on June 14. Watch how it went down below:
