Bela Fleck & Billy Strings Perform Together In Nashville

Béla Fleck and Billy Strings performed a set together in Nashville on Thursday. The banjoist and guitarist’s joint appearance took place at The Ainsworth in Nashville as part of Americanafest.

Fleck and Strings were participating in an Americanafest 2019 event called Americana From All Sides: Strings, Songs And Conversation. The pair of pickers began with Tony Rice’s “Church Street Blues.” They then worked up an arrangement of a new Fleck song titled “Charmed.” Strings then discussed the inspiration behind his song “While I’m Waiting Here” before they played the Turmoil & Tinfoil track.

Bela and Billy then played “Slipstream” from Fleck’s 1988 album Drive. The set ended with Fleck’s tune “Balderdash.” Watch the entire performance captured by Music City Maven below:
