The 57th annual Grammy Awards took place last night at Staples Center in Los Angeles, where Beck won the Album Of The Year Grammy for Morning Phase. Kanye West stepped to the stage as Beck was receiving his award from Prince, bringing back memories of the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, when the rapper interrupted Taylor Swift during her acceptance speech. This time around, West just faked out an interruption and let Beck continue. However, Kanye did complain about Beck beating out Beyonce for the trophy to anyone who would listen after the event. For his part, Beck was amused as he told US Weekly, “I was just so excited he was coming up. He deserves to be on stage as much as anybody. How many great records has he put out in the last five years right?” When asked whether Beyonce should’ve won, Beck responded “Absolutely! I thought she was going to win. Come on, she’s Beyonce!”
