Beck dropped a surprise album, Everybody’s Got To Learn Sometime, full of rarities, deep cuts and covers. The record is out now digitally with Valentine’s Day red vinyl available for preorder.
Everybody’s Got To Learn Sometime takes its name from Beck’s contribution to the soundtrack for the 2004 film The Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, a cover of The Korgis' 1980 single. The song has continued to be a live staple for Beck with notable performances in his recent orchestral shows.
Beck also included his entry in the Scott Pilgrim vs. The World soundtrack, “Ramona,” the sole original on Everybody’s Got To Learn Sometime. The record also contains Beck renditions of golden oldies such as The Flamingos “I Only Have Eyes For You” and Hank Williams iconic “Your Cheatin’ Heart.”
Elsewhere are on the record are John Lennon's “Love” and the Elvis Presley-recorded “Can’t Help Falling In Love.” Daniel Johnston's “True Love Will Find You In The End” closes out the record.
