Beck Shares ‘Tarantula’ From ‘Music Inspired By The Film Roma’

Beck shared a cover of Colourbox’s “Tarantula” from the upcoming Music Inspired By The Film Roma compilation album. Sony Music Masterworks will release the collection of music recorded exclusively for the project that also features Patti Smith, Billie Eilish, El-P, Jessie Rye, Laura Marling, DJ Shadow, T Bone Burnett and others on February 8.
Originally issued by Colourbox as a B-side in 1982, Beck’s arrangement of “Tarantula” was done in collaboration with his father, David Campbell and inspired by Alfonso Cuarón’s critically-acclaimed film Roma. Beck’s was backed by a 24-piece ensemble conducted by Campbell and featuring violinist Charlie Bisharat. Additional vocals were provided by Leslie Feist and Alex Lilly. Stream “Tarantula” below:
