On Friday a structure within Adam Yauch Park in the New York City neighborhood of Brooklyn Heights was defaced with multiple swastikas and the message “Go Trump.” Local officials have come together with the surviving members of the Beastie Boys to announce an anti-hate rally at the park.
Adam Yauch Park will host the Stand Up Against Hate rally at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday (November 20) morning. The Beastie Boys posted the news on the group’s social feeds and Ad-Rock is expected to appear. Ad-Rock will be joined by State Senator Daniel Squadron, Congresswoman Nydia Valazquez, Public Advocate Letitia James, City Council members, elected officials, community and faith leaders at the event.
The graffiti has been removed and replaced with symbols of love:
