Bartees Strange Unveils Infectious ‘Backseat Banton’ Single On ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’

Bartees Strange appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday. The guitarist and singer-songwriter performed “Backseat Banton” from his upcoming album, Horror.

Horror is due out this Friday, February 14 through 4AD. Bartees Strange shared “Backseat Banton” today following his Kimmel performance of the song. “Backseat Banton” is the fifth preview of the new record following “Lie 95,” “Sober,” “Wants Needs” and “Too Much.”

Bartees Strange hit the El Capitan Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard to perform “Backseat Banton” on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday ahead of the official release.

“This song is about me wanting to take more control over my own life,” Strange wrote in a social media post. “Thanks again to Jimmy Kimmel Live and everyone else who made yesterday’s performance possible. Also……. The band sounded incredible.”

Bartees’ band consisted of Graham Richman on keyboards, John “JD” Daise on bass, TK Johnson on drums and Daniel Kleederman on guitar.
