The Barr Brothers ‘Run Right Into It’ With Elizabeth Powell On High-Octane New Single

The Barr Brothers shared “Run Right Into It,” the second preview of their forthcoming studio album, Let It Hiss. The new track finds siblings Brad and Andrew Barr joined by fellow Montrealer Elizabeth Powell (Land Of Talk).

Let It Hiss marks The Barr Brothers’ fourth studio album and first in over eight years. The self-produced follow-up to 2017’s Queens Of The Breakers will be released through Secret City Records on October 17.

Brad and Andrew Barr recorded Let It Hiss primarily as a duo at their Montreal studio. The pair recruited Powell, My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James, Patrick Watson and Klô Pelgag to contribute to the 10-track LP.

Hot on the heels of lead single “Let It Hiss,” the anthemic “Run Right Into It” is a propulsive rocker featuring Powell’s vocal talents in the mix. The Barr Brothers stated the following in regards to their new song:

“‘Run Right Into It’ is the musical equivalent of a ‘74 Camaro in a high speed police chase barrelling towards the Great Wall of China. It’s the release that comes after smashing into the thing we’re running away from, or towards, and finding the expansive open road beyond. It is lyrical and audio propulsion. The parallel voices of Brad Barr and Land of Talk’s Elizabeth Powell are locked together like pistons. The feel is immediate, the guitar riff is hypnotic and it’s one of the most drivable songs since Golden Earring’s ‘Radar Love.’
