The Avett Brothers are featured on the next episode of Austin City Limits, which premieres on PBS (check local listings) this Saturday, January 18 at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT. Seth and Scott Avett focus on material from the group’s self-titled 2024 studio album for their first ACL visit in over a decade, including an emotional performance of “We Are Loved.”

After making their Austin City Limits debut during Season 35, The Avetts returned to the legendary live music television program in Season 40. Now, the band is back in time for the program’s historic 50th season. Future episodes of Season 50 will feature Chris Stapleton, Carín León, Sturgill Simpson, Willie Nelson and Mickey Guyton.

The Avett Brothers arrived on May 17, 2024 via American Recordings, Ramseur Records and Thirty Tigers, marking their first new studio album in five years. Longtime collaborator Rick Rubin produced the nine-track effort, which was recorded both at his Shangri-La studio in Malibu and at Nashville’s Blackbird facility.

The North Carolina-based band deliver a 10-song set for the must-see hour of Austin City Limits. Seth, Scott and bandmate Bob Crawford work through The Avett Brothers cuts, a cover of Toby Keith’s “As Good As I Once Was,” True Sadness (2016) gem “I Wish I Was” and the beloved “No Hard Feelings.”

“We Are Loved” is among five tracks from the eponymous 2024 LP featured in this weekend’s episode. The tender song is performed solo by Seth Avett until his brother joins in halfway through. The siblings pair up to bring the tune to a powerful crescendo.
