The Avett Brothers opened their Thursday night concert at the Oakdale Theater in Wallingford, Connecticut with the live debut of “We Americans.” The song is the third track on Closer Than Together, the band’s new studio album, which came out today.
Last night’s show also featured “Tell The Truth” and “High Steppin'” from Closer Than Together. The former was first played live on September 19 while the latter saw its live debut as part of a concert in June. The rest of the band’s 19-song main set was heavy on staples including “Head Full Of Doubt/Road Full Of Promise,” “Laundry Room,” “Distraction #74” and “Shame.” For the encore, The Avetts ended the evening with a run of “Murder In The City,” “Morning Song” and “No Hard Feelings.”
